1.Background and Superiority of the Project With the improvement of people’s living standards and development of food, mechanical, chemical and electronic industries in our country, the vegetable oil demand has been increasing rapidly in recent years, which has been supplemented by about 4 to 5 million tons of imported vegetable oil each year. Boasting a strategic location on the Chinese southeast coast and backing onto Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo and the vast hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta area, Zhoushan lies at the intersection of China’s north-south coastal shipping route and the Yangtze River “golden waterway”. As the Yangtze River valley’s gateway to the outside world, it has almost equal distances to the newly rising port cities in the Asia and Pacific region. Its advantageous location, the unique deep-water port conditions and convenient sea transportation make it an ideal place where a vegetable oil processing, transshipment and storage base are to be sited. At the projected site alongside the shore, there are one 15,000-tonnage berth and one 25,000-tonnage berth. Another one 50,000-tonnage berth, which can also accommodate 80,000-ton vessels, is now under construction. When the project is completed the processed vegetable oil will be transported via pipelines or special ships to the targeted destinations. The vessels for raw materials and oil cakes can come into and out of the port directly. 2. Construction Scale and the Content This project encompasses oil processing, storage and transshipment. Zhoushan Portside Industry Park’s detailed controlling layout has passed the appraisal and the preliminary requisition of 703410 square metres of land has been finished. It will be the biggest grain & vegetable oil processing, transshipment and storage base in the east China area on completion. 3.Cooperation Form Joint venture or cooperative. 4.Conditions Offered by Chinese Partner (1) Construction land ; (2) The supporting dock usufruct ;(3) Other basic facilities. 5.Way of Contact Deparment to contact: Zhoushan Port Administrative Bureau Person in contact: Lin Jingyi Tel: 0580-2067186 Fax: 0580-2067181 E-mail: zschengf@163.com |
